Middle East:
The Middle East usually includes Arab countries from Egypt east to the Persian Gulf, plus Israel and Iran while Turkey is sometimes considered part of the Middle East and sometimes part of Europe. On the other hand, Middle East countries like Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh are usually considered part of South Asia. The history of this region dates back to ancient times, with the geopolitical importance of the region being recognized for many millennia. In addition, several major religions including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam originated in the Middle East. Arabs constitute the majority ethnic group in the region, followed by Turks, Persians, Kurds, Azeris, Copts, Jews, etc.

Generally, the region has a hot, arid climate, with several major rivers providing irrigation to support agriculture in limited areas such as the Nile Delta in Egypt. The most populated countries are Egypt, Iran and Turkey, while Saudi Arabia is the largest Middle Eastern country by area. Most of the countries that border the Persian Gulf have vast reserves of crude oil, with monarchs of the Arabian Peninsula in particular benefiting economically from petroleum exports.

The Caucasus or Caucasia is an area situated between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea and mainly occupied by Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Russia.

The people of the region have exhibited an extraordinary ethnic and cultural diversity since early times. In subsequent centuries, successive waves of peoples migrating across Eurasia added to and were molded by the more established groups in the region. Not surprisingly, a greater variety of languages is spoken in Caucasia than in any other area of similar size in the world.

Railways are well developed in the Caucasus. Trunk lines ring each of the main mountain ranges and traverse the Caucasian isthmus through Transcaucasia; branches from the main lines run through many of the valleys. A dense network of highways is heavily used for the transport of passengers and cargo. Oil and natural-gas pipelines also crisscross the region. In addition, the lower reaches of the Kura, Kuban, and Rioni rivers are navigable.

United States of America
United States, officially United States of America, abbreviated U.S. or U.S.A., byname America, country in North America, a federal republic of 50 states. Besides the 48 conterminous states that occupy the middle latitudes of the continent, the United States includes the state of Alaska, at the northwestern extreme of North America, and the island state of Hawaii, in the mid-Pacific Ocean. The conterminous states are bounded on the north by Canada, on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, on the south by the Gulf of Mexico and Mexico, and on the west by the Pacific Ocean.

The major characteristic of the United States is probably its great variety. Its physical environment ranges from the Arctic to the subtropical, from the moist rain forest to the arid desert, from the rugged mountain peak to the flat prairie.

The country has a diversity that to a great degree has come from an immense and sustained global immigration.
